Mischa Barton has teased a possible The O.C. cast reunion.
The Californian teen drama followed troubled teenager Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie), who is taken in by wealthy lawyer Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher) and navigates Newport Beach’s elite world with his adoptive brother Seth Cohen (Adam Brody), while falling in love with Marissa Cooper (Mischa).
Over 10 years after the Fox show wrapped its four-year run in 2007, cast members Rachel Bilson (Summer Roberts) and Melinda Clarke (Julie Cooper) reunited for the podcast, Beyond the OC (Welcome to the OC), while Ben and Adam also recently got back together.
Mischa, 40, meanwhile, has now teased that a cast reunion could be on the cards.
In an interview with RTL, posted on TikTok, she said: “I did the podcast with Melinda and Rachel.
“There might be a reunion coming up, we’ll see.”
After the host asked if there was “anything planned”, Mischa replied: “We’ll see…”
Fans expressed their excitement in the post’s comments section, as one penned: “There so is a reunion you can see by her eyes (sic).”
A second supporter typed: “Wow. Hold upp cs I want this to happen (sic).”
And a third follower wrote: “This would literally heal me.”
In February 2024, Mischa admitted that she and Ben secretly dated when she was a teen, after the pair previously denied romance rumours.
The actress – who branded the rumours they had been an item “terribly weird” – was 17 when she starred in The O.C. alongside the actor when he was 25.
Appearing on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Mischa revealed: “I went into (‘The O.C.’) a virgin, a kid.
“Acting with people older than me was a bit like, ‘Oh wow, they know what they’re doing. There’s going to be relationships on this show, and you’re going to need to play that part.’
“I didn’t feel really ready for that.”
She added: “I was always a really late bloomer in school, and I hadn’t really dated. I just had no idea what I was doing really. So, I felt like I needed to catch up.”
Mischa also revealed her relationship with Ben was her first, adding she had “no idea” what she was doing.
She said: “I think that kind of set things off on the wrong foot too because it was like people hook up on these shows and, whatever, and these things happen, but we threw ourselves all into it very fast.
“Then when you break up, and things don’t work, and they see you dating other people. Notoriously, there was a lot of dating on that show and different people getting together.”
Mischa admitted it was also “tricky” that their relationship “happened right out of the gate” and she felt “overwhelmed and not ready for any of that”.
She also told how the producers were worried about the pair’s age gap when they were having their relationship off screen, adding: “I remember they were like, ‘Mischa’s disappeared with Ben, and like, she’s only 17-and-a-half, 18.’
“The producers went to my parents. It was kind of a whole ordeal.”
