More than one billion people are using the Gemini app every month.

Google has confirmed that the Gemini app has become the fastest-growing product in the history of the technology giant.

Amid a list of new data points, Google explained: “Voice is transforming daily interactions: 63 percent of users now talk directly to Gemini, including more ‘voice only’ users. And busy parents are 43 percent more likely to use voice for everyday tasks.

“Gemini helps in the physical world: One in five Gemini Live interactions go beyond voice; people are using live camera feeds and screen sharing for real-time problem-solving. This is really popular with DIYers and students.”

Google also observed that small businesses love Gemini’s creative features.

The tech giant explained: “Gemini now generates 150 million+ images every day. It lets you do images, video, and audio in one place, helping small businesses create products like marketing materials.”

What’s more, Google has confirmed that Apple users are turning to the Gemini app.

The company said: “There are 100 million+ active users on iOS, and macOS power users prompt around two times more frequently than other surfaces.”

Last year, Google outlined its long-term vision for AI technology, explaining that it wants consumers to feel confident using AI.

The company has been investing in machine learning and AI research, tools and infrastructure for more than 20 years – but Google insists that the consumer remains its priority.

A blog post explained: “December is usually a time for reflection, and looking ahead. That’s why this month we’ve been focused on taking frontier intelligence out of the lab and putting it into your hands in ways that actually matter for your day-to-day.”

Google also stressed that it wishes to deploy the technology in a responsible way.

The company explained that as “we push these boundaries, we’re staying grounded in responsibility — launching new tools to help you verify AI content so you can explore this new frontier with confidence”.
