Rowan Henchy once told Miley Cyrus that Brooke Shields was her mom, not hers

Rowan Henchy confronted Miley Cyrus as a child over Brooke Shields playing her mom on Hannah Montana.

Rowan Henchy told Miley Cyrus as a child that Brooke Shields was her real mom while they were filming Hannah Montana.

The Next Gen NYC star was a huge fan of the Disney Channel series, in which Brooke played Miley’s on-screen mom, Susan Stewart, but when Rowan came face-to-face with Miley during a set visit, she was not too keen on sharing her mom with the show’s star.

Appearing on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Rowan, 23, recalled: “I was such a Hannah Montana fan from the beginning, and she brought me, you know how they used to do live recordings, and there was an audience?

“So she brought me on one time, and I just remember going up to Miley Cyrus, and I was like, ‘She’s my mother, not yours.'”

Miley, 33, who played the titular pop star Hannah Montana, joked that she and Rowan can “share” Brooke.

But Rowan was not having it, as she quipped: “You cannot say that to me.”

But Brooke soon stepped in.

Rowan remembered: “And mom was like, ‘OK, yes, I’m yours.'”

Brooke first appeared as Susan in season two of Hannah Montana. The character died three years before the events of series one but appeared through flashbacks and memories.

Elsewhere, Rowan has joined the cast of Bravo’s Next Gen NYC, and Brooke, 61, was extremely worried for her when she was offered the chance to appear on the reality TV series, fearing it could derail Rowan’s career plans.

Appearing on a May episode of NBC’s Today with Jenna and Sheinelle, Brooke said: “Oh, I was sick to my stomach.”

However, The Blue Lagoon actress gave Rowan some advice on how to present herself in front of the cameras, and she hopes her daughter will be able to use the show as a launch pad for a job in broadcast journalism.

Brooke added: “I said: ‘Look, don’t be a f*** up. You know? Be the one, the voice of reason, and if you’re gonna parlay this’ – I mean, it’s Bravo and Peacock, she wants to be in broadcast journalism, and she also likes being on camera – so I said, ‘See if you can translate that into another opportunity, and it’s a business choice you’re making’ …

“Bad behaviour is not the goal, and this should be a stepping stone of some kind … “

However, the Pretty Baby star went on to admit she has seen a positive change in Rowan since she started filming Next Gen NYC.

She said: “It’s given her a lot of confidence in a way that’s so nice to see.”

As well as Rowan, Brooke and her 62-year-old husband, film director Chris Henchy, have a 20-year-old daughter named Grier.
