Julia Stiles has been left stunned after hitting the one million followers milestone on Instagram.
The 45-year-old actress told fans she “feels so lucky” that so many people have decided to follow her on the social media site, with that number dramatically increasing after it was announced she’s competing on this year’s Dancing with the Stars.
In a video posted to Instagram, Julia couldn’t hide the shock from her face as she said: “A million followers? Guys I got off an airplane to see I have a million followers?”
She continued to say she’s “having the time of my life”, and is massively appreciative of “all this support”, as she repeatedly told her fans “thank you!”.
Julia added in the caption: “I feel so lucky. Joy Joy Joy.”
Among those commenting was Kerry Washington, who appeared alongside Julia in 2001 movie Save The Last Dance, with the screen star sharing her support by posting a string of red love heart emojis.
Responding to Kerry’s comment, another fan wrote: “I don’t think she realises that the original audience from her older films is made up of middle-aged adults going through major life transitions.
“A lot of people need this type of escapism right now and I’m here for it!!”
As another urged Kerry: “Ok you have to make a guest appearance this season for a dance!”
While someone else told Julia: “I never watch DWTS. I’m watching this season because of you!”
And another wrote: “I mean. . . OF COURSE. Millennials have entered the chat. You’re the epitome of nostalgia my dear. In. The. Best. Way. Possible.- the end.”
To which someone else commented: “You’re one of our millennial voices!! A woman who didn’t fit into the box and our teenage selves thank you!! We’ve missed you and here in full support!!”
Julia is partnered with professional dancer Ezra Sosa in season 35 of the ABC competition, which begins with a two-night premiere on September 15 and 16.
The full celebrity cast was unveiled on Good Morning America this week, with Julia joining a lineup that includes Jenna Dewan, Harry Shum Jr., Tatyana Ali and Olympic champion Amber Glenn.
