Benny Blanco reveals celebration plans with Selena Gomez

Benny Blanco has explained how he’ll celebrate his upcoming anniversary.

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez plan to celebrate their anniversary by eating their wedding cake.

The 38-year-old record producer and Selena, 34, tied the knot in Santa Barbara, California in September 2025, and Benny has now revealed how they plan to celebrate the occasion.

During an appearance on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle, Benny shared: “I didn’t even know this was a thing. Her grandma, her nana told me this. When we were at the wedding, she was like, ‘You gotta save the cake.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean save the cake?’ And she was like, ‘You gotta save the cake.’ And I was like, ‘Why?’ She was like, ‘You have to eat it.’”

Benny also revealed that Martin Short, Selena’s Only Murders in the Building co-star, has already eaten part of the wedding cake.

He shared: “We have the people on top. The full cake isn’t there because Marty ate part of the cake before we were supposed to do it. Then they had to put it back together.”

Meanwhile, Selena previously confessed that she never imagined herself dating Benny.

However, the chart-topping pop star – who has also dated the likes of Justin Bieber and The Weeknd – admitted that her attitude changed the more they worked together.

During an appearance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, Selena shared: “I was so not … you know when you realise you’re not in that place anymore you need to be where you are? It’s all about timing to meet that person even if I did think, ‘Oh I need to take this a step forward then it wouldn’t have worked’. Simply you just have to be there mentally in order to move forward with something healthy.

“Then we reunited for Single Soon … it wasn’t our favourite … just because I can say this cause I’m marrying him. Just really wasn’t what I thought I wanted so he came in and he agrees on a lot of levels but he just came in and I was like oh ‘Hi Benny’ and we spoke for two hours and I asked him to hook me up with anybody that he knew that was cute and he was like, ‘Oh we do these things, these dinner nights. You should come’ … and next thing you know we’re dating.”
