The Blank Space hitmaker was seated in her usual seat at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, alongside her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, as she cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs against the Indianapolis Colts, and she was visibly excited by her new spouse’s successful play during the game’s first quarter.
After Travis scored a touchdown, Taylor – who married the sportsman at New York’s Madison Square Garden during the off-season in July – could be seen pointing to her wedding ring as she exclaimed: “That’s my husband!”
The Chiefs went on to win the game 33-30.
It marked the second time Taylor has been in the stands at the stadium in less than a week because, last Monday (14.09.26), she was seated alongside Tom Cruise when the team took on the Denver Broncos.
And the Mission: Impossible star later explained that the Opalite singer was talking him through the game as his football knowledge is a bit rusty.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host asked him: “When the biggest movie star in the world is sitting next to the biggest artist in the world, what do you talk about?”
Tom explained: “She was schooling me on football … For real. She was bringing the football. First of all, she’s a genius. I’ve been following her since she was a kid. Everybody there, all their friends, they’re a beautiful couple and magical in their own right … and everybody there in that booth.
“I hadn’t been to a football game since pre-COVID, where I was working and everything. So to get to hang out there and have that moment, it was a lot … She knows her stuff.”
Taylor previously admitted she didn’t know much about football until she started dating NFL player Travis, and Tom revealed the singer had spoken to him about being taught the rules by her now-husband.
Tom – who was among the famous faces invited to Taylor and Travis’ lavish wedding – shared: “She knew nothing about football when she met Travis … She said: ‘He’s so patient’. I said, ‘I’m sure he was.’ I think everybody would be very patient [with her] … She knows [now].”
The Top Gun star added that the pair also talked about movies and music during the game and that he enjoys her sense of humour.
He said of Taylor: “[We talked about] music and movies. She’s so funny. She’s got such a great sense of humour. A brilliant writer also, by the way. Brilliant musician and director. Very skilled.”
