Kelly Clarkson has explained how she chooses outfits for her shows.
Kelly Clarkson is a “mood person”.
The 44-year-old pop star has revealed that she usually chooses her stage outfits on the day she performs, with Kelly explaining that she allows her “mood” to dictate her style.
Asked about her outfit plans for the Stagecoach Music Festival, Kelly told Late Night host Seth Meyers: “I’m kind of the person that can show up in sequins and bedazzled out, or I could show up in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t know. I don’t know where I’m at that day, Seth. I don’t know what I feel.”
Asked if she decides her outfits “on the day”, Kelly replied: “Pretty much. We roll in with maybe five outfits, and they’re very different … I might be bloated, Seth!
“I usually go off whatever. I’m a mood person … Yay, follow the rollercoaster!”
Meanwhile, Kelly previously announced that she was quitting her daytime TV show in order to focus on her family life.
The pop star – who began hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019 – took to Instagram to share the news with her followers.
She explained: “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner. (sic)”
Kelly plans to spend more time with her kids, following the death of their father, Brandon Blackstock, in August 2025, aged 48.
The former American Idol winner – who had River Rose, 12, and Remington, ten, with Brandon – said: “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. (sic)”
