Oasis legend Liam Gallagher got into a very public row with former Corrie star Charlie Lawson.
Liam Gallagher has blasted Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson after he called Oasis “average”.
The Wonderwall singer didn’t hold back as he and the 67-year-old former Corrie actor – best known for playing Jim McDonald on the cobbles for various stints between 1989 to 2018 – got caught in a war of words on social media.
The row started when Charlie replied to a post on X on Tuesday (29.09.26), which read: “Alright, no sitting on the fence. Do you think Oasis are over hyped… or are they genuinely one of the best bands the world has ever seen?”
He shared the post, adding: “They are distinctly average.”
Liam, 54, spotted the response, and couldn’t resist his own reply as he wrote: “Like your f****** acting skills.”
When a fan said the musician was “going for everyone”, and he claimed: “He’s had it coming for a long time silly old c***”.
The Britpop legend later joked that soap star Charlie was an “actor in his f****** dreams”.
Liam frequently keeps fans entertained with his scathing social media posts, but his brother Noel recently called his sibling “delightful”.
Speaking in new documentary film Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, he said: “We never used to text each other much but now we text each other stupid videos like two mates would. We’re in contact way way way more often than we ever were.
“It was all forgiven without saying a word. I use this word to describe what he has been like, a word I never thought I would use to describe him, which is delightful.”
Oasis are riding high after announcing their Oasis Live ’27 two years, which follows their sell-out Oasis Live ’25 Tour, and the 42 shows all sold out shortly after going on sale over the weekend.
Oasis Live ’27 will span 42 shows across Scotland, England, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Italy, the US and Ireland.
They added four extra shows to their run at Knebworth House in England, bringing the total to six, plus another date at the Rome Olympic Stadium on July 26, and Munich’s Allianz Arena on July 6.
However, the Slide Away rockers have confirmed that no further dates will be added.
After the shows all sold out, singer Liam took to social media to write: “That’s all folks.”
However, he hinted more concerts could follow if the band come up with some new music.
Liam explained: “Listen if all goes well with the tour I guess next step is to have a chat about new music. Can’t see us touring again unless we have new music.”
