Days of Our Lives star Robert Kelker-Kelly dies aged 62

Robert Kelker-Kelly, who appeared in Days of Our Lives and General Hospital, has passed away at the age of 62.

Days of Our Lives actor Robert Kelker-Kelly has died aged 62.

The soap opera, best known his character Bo Brady’s on-screen romance with Lisa Rinna’s alter ego Billie Reed on the longrunning US daytime show, passed away on Saturday (03.10.26).

As reported by TMZ, the medical examiner confirmed the news, while Kelker-Kelly’s cause of death has not been officially confirmed.

The St. Peters Police Department told the outlet that officers responded at around 8:16pm local time to the actor’s home in Missouri after he complained of chest pain and became unresponsive.

It’s said CPR was already in progress when EMS and police were on their way, while officers and paramedics unsuccessfully attempted “life-saving measures”.

According to the outlet, law enforcement didn’t find anything suspicious at the scene, noting that the situation appears to be consistent with a “medical event”.

Kelker-Kelly took over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell on Days of Our Lives, playing the part from 1992 to 1995.

He previously told We Love Soaps: “I was working, on average, 90 hours a week. They were shooting one to two shows a day so we would be doing 120 pages of dialogue and that went on for a long time.

“I went through one three-year contract and negotiated a second contract, and then that one fell apart. But it was exhausting. They worked us to death.

“At the time, because my shirt was off all the f****** time, I would get up at three o’clock in the morning, go to the gym from four to six, and then be at the studio from six to eight (or nine) at night… and then go to sleep and do it all over again.”

Meanwhile, his castmate Billie Reed previously claimed they “hated each other” behind the scenes.

In her memoir You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It back in February this year, she wrote: “He made my life a living hell on the set of Days. He was horrible to me. I’d go so far as to say verbally abusive.

“He was passive aggressive, manipulative, and played weird mind games.”

Kelker-Kelly’s other credits included playing Sam Fowler in Another World, and his 1987 TV debut changed his life.

He added to We Love Soaps: “At the time I got cast on Another World I was homeless, sleeping in my Jeep, or on anyone’s floor that I could, and working as a secretary for a headhunter’s office in LA.”

He also appeared in General Hospital as Stavros Cassadine from 2001 to 2003, and again in 2013 and 2014.

By that time, Kelker-Kelly was largely stepping away from acting on screen, as he revealed in the same interview that he had embarked on a different career.

He said: “I’m a charter pilot. I fly Lear jets, Lear 60s, for a company of out Spirit of St. Louis airport in St. Louis, Missouri. I also instruct on the side because I like to teach.

“I still teach acting occasionally, private coaching, monologues and things like that. I’m living in the Midwest. And I’m a dad.”
