Anne Hathaway feels inspired by Rihanna, but why?

Anne Hathaway has heaped praise on Rihanna, her Ocean’s 8 co-star.

Anne Hathaway’s maternity style has been inspired by Rihanna.

The Oscar-winning actress announced her latest pregnancy in June, and Anne has revealed that Rihanna’s quirky style has encouraged her to be a bit more bold and experimental.

Anne, 43 – who previously starred alongside Rihanna in Ocean’s 8, the 2018 heist comedy film – told CBS Mornings: “I think we have Rihanna to thank. She changed the game.”

The Hollywood star hasn’t tried to copy any of Rihanna’s outfits. However, the singer’s approach has encouraged her to be a bit bolder with her maternity wear.

Anne – who already has sons Jack, six, and Jonathan, ten, with husband Adam Shulman – said: “When I saw her, what she was doing with her maternity style, I just realised that I just needed to use my imagination and go out there and have more fun.”

Meanwhile, Anne previously admitted that, for many years, she struggled to grasp that “genuine humanity exists within fashion”.

The actress previously thought that the creative element of the fashion industry was being undermined by the business side of the industry.

She explained to WWD: “I’m someone who’s slow to open — I’m getting much, much, much better at it. But fashion to me is a business made on creativity and intimate relationships.

“I think when I was looking at it more from the outside, I didn’t understand that the business people are also creative and that the creative people are also business-oriented and that they really do take care of each other. And so that’s the part that I think I didn’t understand, is the level of care and passion and authenticity.

“Genuine humanity exists within fashion. I appreciate that so much more now, partially because I know so many more people in it.”

Anne admits that her attitude towards the fashion industry has changed a lot in recent times.

She said: “When I arrived at that place in a more meaningful way in my life, that was when it opened up for me in terms of a tangible relationship in fashion.”
