Lottie Moss reveals she blew modelling fortune on friends

Kate Moss’ younger half-sister has opened up about financial ruin, addiction and the pressures of the fashion industry, claiming she received little support as a young model.

Lottie Moss has revealed she spent her entire modelling fortune paying for friends’ rent, holidays and flights, leaving her with nothing from the career that made her famous.

The 28-year-old model and younger half-sister of Kate Moss, 52, has accused her former modelling agency of failing to provide adequate support when she entered the fashion industry as a teenager.

Speaking on the Olivia’s House podcast, hosted by Olivia Attwood, 35, Lottie described how she struggled with money, addiction and loneliness before leaving modelling for OnlyFans. Her disclosures come as she attempts to rebuild her finances and career following the liquidation of her former company earlier this year.

Lottie said: “I paid for people’s rent. I paid for people’s holidays. I would pay for everyone’s flights.”

She added: “I spent all my money for modelling. I have none of it left. Wow. Not a single drop because you had no guidance. No guidance whatsoever.”

The former model, who began working in fashion after growing up in the shadow of Kate’s international success, said she had lacked the experience to recognise the financial and personal risks surrounding her career.

During the interview, Olivia suggested Lottie had previously blamed her parents for trusting her agency to look after her interests.

Lottie agreed, saying: “Yeah, that is a sad thing as well. I think they really trusted, you know, they thought these people have done this for years. They’ve done they must sort of know what they’re doing and they handle young women all the time.”

She added: “They have a board specifically for new faces, so they must, you know, know what they’re doing.”

Lottie claimed her former agency had failed to provide the support she needed, although she did not identify the company.

She said: “They really didn’t. I mean, my old agency, I can’t name names obviously, but they are just completely like they mismanage people all the time.”

The model acknowledged she bore some responsibility for her decisions but argued that young people entering the industry needed greater protection.

She said: “I think of course you know it is your responsibility as well to like keep yourself on the straight and narrow… .”

Lottie  added: “As a young sort of impressionable person, I don’t think, they should be very early on seeing the signs and sort of helping you and navigate you in a different way. For them, they were just happy as long as I was there.”

Lottie also described the emotional difficulties she experienced after leaving conventional modelling and joining the subscription platform OnlyFans.

She said: “I really had a hard time with leaving the modelling and going and doing OnlyFans, I really felt like ”wow I really f****** this didn’t I?’ Did I just ruin my life, and my career?””

The move had followed years in which she said she felt increasingly isolated and dependent on alcohol and drugs.

Lottie said: “I got given so many amazing opportunities, but then on the other side of it, of course, there were issues with the agency, and I think if I had carried on doing modelling I’d be dead.”

She added: “I think the way I was going, there was not a lot of people who could humble me, and there was not a lot of drinks I wouldn’t drink to get to feeling something and I wasn’t feeling anything. I was feeling like very lonely, very lost, very empty.”

Lottie, who has previously described the fashion industry as “toxic”, has alleged she was pressured to reduce her waist to 23 inches and accept modelling assignments she did not want.

She has also claimed her agency dropped her after she began producing content for OnlyFans, a decision that caused tensions within her family.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2021, Lottie began using the platform, later revealing that her mother stopped speaking to her for several weeks because of her decision.

She subsequently entered rehabilitation in 2022 after publicly discussing her struggles with cocaine addiction and the impact of drugs and alcohol on her life.
