Wladimir Klitschko to pay Hayden Panettiere’s tax bill

Wladimir Klitschko plans to pay Hayden Panettiere’s tax bill out of his own money to avoid “direct financial detriment” to their daughter while the late actress’ estate is still being established.

Wladimir Klitschko plans to pay Hayden Panettiere’s tax bill out of his own money to avoid “direct financial detriment” to their daughter.

The Nashville actress died on August 16 from an accidental overdose aged just 36, and her former fiancé has detailed his plan to step in and pay out $30,000 to prevent “unnecessary interest” and additional penalties.

According to documents obtained by E! News, the former boxer – who has had sole custody of 11-year-old Kaya since 2018 – said he believes Hayden’s individual state and federal tax returns are due on 15 October and he will pay them from his own pocket because as yet, no one has been appointed representative of the Heroes star’s estate.

The 50-year-old Ukrainian will “later seek reimbursement” from the estate once a representative is in place.

It emerged earlier this week that Wladimir believes someone has already sold Hayden’s jewellery to a pawn shop.

In a supplement filed with the Superior Court of California on Monday (05.10.26), the documents read: “Petitioner is informed and believes that a non-family member previously connected to Hayden sold certain items belonging to Hayden, believed to include jewelry, to a pawn shop.

“The pawn shop has declined to disclose specific item information without being contacted by law enforcement.

“Absent such contact, there is a real and continuing risk that any remaining items, including jewelry, believed to belong to Hayden, will be sold, transferred or otherwise rendered unrecoverable.”

Last month, the retired boxer requested temporary guardianship of Panettiere’s estate on behalf of their daughter.

His legal team have argued that someone needs to be in charge of the late Scream star’s estate so that he can get law enforcement to help investigate “the recovery of Hayden’s property”.

Wladimir noted that the current situation is “to the direct financial detriment of Kaya, Hayden’s sole intestate heir”.

In his original request, he argued that without action, he “expected the individual will continue to try and misappropriate property belonging to Hayden’s Estate”.

The documents stressed that if Wladimir isn’t immediately appointed Kaya’s guardian, no one is able to “marshal, protect and account for the assets” of Hayden’s estate.

He also accused those same individuals of having “accessed and destroyed” the late star’s emails.

The pair started dating in 2009 and, after a breakup in 2011, they reunited in 2013 and got engaged that same year.

In December 2014, they welcomed daughter Kaya into the world, before splitting again in 2018, with their child moving to Ukraine before her father eventually gained full custody.

Hayden described the situation as “the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever, ever had to do”, although the pair remained “best friends”.

In May, just three months before her death, she told the On Purpose podcast: “There’s not many people who know me in this world as well as he does.

“And I know that we still have an incredible amount of love for each other. And most importantly, we have an incredible amount of respect for each other.”
