Thousands of the Ella Langley’s fans were left disappointed when she announced she’d made the decision to axe the gig at the BOK Center on Friday night (09.10.26).
Police have found “no credible threat” to Ella Langley’s Tulsa concert on Friday night (09.10.26) despite the hitmaker citing a “serious security” issue when cancelling the gig.
Thousands of the country singer’s fans were left disappointed when she announced she’d made the decision to axe the gig at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Ella wrote on Instagram: “Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight’s show.
“This decision was made under the advisement of local authorities, the venue, and my security team.”
The BOK Center also wrote on their social media: “Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of fans, venue personnel, and the artist, Ella Langley’s scheduled performance tonight at BOK Center in Tulsa has been canceled.
“The safety and well-being of everyone involved is our absolute priority, and after careful consideration, we determined that the show cannot proceed.”
Despite Ella’s statement, the Tulsa Police Department posted a contradictory account, as they wrote on Facebook: “We advised the performer’s staff that we found no credible threat to the event, but they decided to cancel the performance anyway.”
In a later Facebook video, which has since been deleted, Tulsa police captain Richard Meulenberg then appeared to double down on the earlier statement, by saying: “We would never tell anybody, if we couldn’t find a credible threat, to cancel their event. So they made the decision to cancel their event tonight.”
Local police previously called it a “false bomb threat call”.
The comments on Ella’s Instagram post were turned off, but the Choosin’ Texas star did also apologise to those fans who had been left devastated by the cancellation.
She wrote: “I know how much time, travel, money and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am.
“This is not a decision that was made lightly – I was so looking forward to spending tonight with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else.
“I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way.”
