Joe Manganiello’s friend offered to abduct Sofia Vergara’s former boyfriend, Nick Loeb, after he sued the actress.
Joe Manganiello’s friend offered to abduct Sofia Vergara’s former boyfriend.
The True Blood actor’s unnamed pal suggested he arrange to have Nick Loeb “snatched off the street”, driven to a remote area and given a savage beating in response to the businessman taking legal action against Joe’s then-wife for custody of the embryos they had had frozen during their four-year relationship, which ended in 2014.
Joe – who was married to the Modern Family actress from 2015 to 2023 – wrote in his new memoir Bloodlines: “At one point a very close friend of mine who happens to have top-level contacts in the private security world offered me the opportunity, no questions asked, to have this guy snatched off the street, blindfolded, hog-tied, thrown in the back of a van, and driven deep into a wooded area, where he would first be warned, then beaten within an inch of his life, and left to fend for himself in the wild.”
The 49-year-old actor admitted the “protective part” of himself “did not dismiss the offer right away” but he ultimately decided against it out of fear of future consequences.
He wrote: “After thinking it through, the spiritual part of me won out, fearing karmic retribution either in this life in the form of prison, or something worse in the next.
“I said, ‘Thank you, but no thank you,’ to that generous offer, and informed Sofía that if we ever saw that asshole in public, we’d have to get up and leave.
“There would be no discussion, just our exit, because I didn’t know if I’d be able to hold back from smashing his face in.”
Nick hit Sofia with a right-to-live lawsuit in Louisiana in 2016, but the case was dismissed due to lack of personal jurisdiction.
Bloodlines largely discusses Joe’s health battle with a debilitating mystery condition, and the Magic Mike actor claimed his health struggles left his marriage “devoid of any emotionality whatsoever”, with Sofia even refusing to hug him when he “begged” for affection.
Shortly after the revelation made headlines, the 54-year-old actress blasted “narcissistic” men in a cryptic Instagram post.
Sofia reshared a post from her son Manolo comparing a “good man” and a “narcissistic man”.
The post defined good men as those who set boundaries, tell the truth and love their partners, while those with narcissistic tendencies are described as gaslighters, liars, being envious and often playing the victim.
Manolo posted the graphic to his Instagram Stories, and wrote: “Remember kids, when dealing with a narcissist, it doesn’t matter how much you do for them, because they will resent you for it, and nothing will ever be enough and they’ll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy.”
