Elizabeth Hurley jokes she and Billy Ray Cyrus are ‘like twins’

Elizabeth Hurley has joked she and Billy Ray Cyrus are like “twins” and have far more similarities than people realise.

Elizabeth Hurley has joked she and Billy Ray Cyrus are like “twins”.

The Bedazzled actress has been romancing the Achy Breaky Heart singer for over a year, and while she acknowledged they may seem very different, she insisted they are a lot more alike than people realise.

Speaking on the SheerLuxe podcast, she quipped: “There are a lot more similarities than you’d think. We have the same hair. Identical hair. Apart from his beard, we’re actually like twins.”

Elizabeth joked Billy Ray looks like he could be the father of her 24-year-old son Damian – whose dad is the late Steve Bing – and that a recent photo of the three of them with her brother Michael showed them all looking like “cousins”.

The 61-year-old star admitted they are an “unlikely pairing in some ways” but their lives are actually “quite similar.”

She explained: “We’ve both lived out of suitcases our entire life.

“And we both also a long time ago moved out of the cities. He’s got a farm in Tennessee, I’ve got one here in Herefordshire, and neither of us really go out much unless we have to ‘cause it’s work. So there are a lot more similarities than you’d think.”

However, she noted she is much more organised than the 65-year-old singer, and she is often shocked by his diet.

She said: “He sort of bumbles around. He’s a bit more bumbly than me.

“He can’t cook and he doesn’t eat properly and there’s never any food in his house. When I arrive I’m like, ‘What have you been eating?’ ‘Oh, nothing.’ Sweets or popcorn or something. So there are differences. But because we both like sort of snuggling up; we’re actually quite similar.”

Elizabeth recently revealed Billy Ray is keen to learn to cook so that he can make her breakfast in bed.

Appearing on UK TV show This Morning earlier this month, Elizabeth said of their romance: “Blended families and blended continents. It’s actually great.

“I spent most of my working life in America, so I’m very easy in America.

“Billy hadn’t really been to England much, apart from short tours but he spent months on end in England, in the country. He loves it too.”

Asked if she is turning him into a country gent, she said: “Well, he’s definitely a country boy. He can’t cook or do anything like that, so he’s trying to learn because he wants to be able to bring me a tray, for breakfast or something, but that hasn’t happened yet.

“He claims, like all men, that he can barbecue but when I’m like, ‘Well here it is’, he goes, ‘Oh well it’s not gas’. Some of us use wood and charcoal. Oh no, no, no, no.”
