Whigfield shared a selfie from a hospital in Milan, Italy, on Instagram on Saturday (24.10.26).
Singer Whigfield secretly underwent a second surgery to ease pain caused by her breast cancer treatment.
Taking to Instagram on October 24, the Saturday Night icon told fans she had the procedure last week and is now recovering in bed ahead of her next performance in Germany as part of the 90s Supershow, scheduled to take place in early November.
Whigfield – real name Sannie Carlson – shared a selfie from a hospital in Milan, Italy, dressed in a gown and a surgical cap, smiling and flashing a peace sign, with the caption: “Hey folks! Like my hat?
“Just a quick update.
“Last Wednesday I underwent a second surgery to fix pain in my breast caused by scar tissue from breast cancer operations and radiation therapy years back.
“I’m now on bed rest so I can heal quickly for my next gig with @90s_supershow.
“If you have any suggestions for really amazing series I’m all ears.
“Love you guys. (sic)”
The 56-year-old entertainer signed off with “Happy Saturday night” – a reference to the dance track that topped the UK charts when it was released in September 1994.
She also added the hashtags “#keepsmilling #positivity #happiness #boobie”.
The post’s comments section was filled with messages wishing Whigfield a speedy recovery.
Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) hitmaker Rozalla, 62, penned: “Speedy recovery Gorgeous (sic).”
One fan typed: “Stay strong and recover soon, beauty. Sending you hugs (sic).”
And a second supporter wrote: “The stage is waiting for u Sannie. All the BEST (sic).”
In October 2024, Whigfield revealed she had undergone treatment for breast cancer 10 years ago.
Taking to Instagram, the Think of You artist shared a photo of her breast post-treatment, with the caption: “Fighting breast cancer was a strange thing.
“1 moment I was living my best life making new music in London, the next I was stuck in a bubble of numbness.
“Even though the operations and radiation therapies where tough, I got so much strength from seeing so many other patients including kids fighting this horrible disease, and many never left the San Raffaele hospital in Milan again.
“I hope this pic (taken during radiation therapy) Doesn’t offend anyone but helps to get checked once in while even though you’re feeling amazing (sic).”
Whigfield concluded: “Wish you all a healthy and happy life.”
In 2022, the Another Day performer took to Instagram and said she was “back at the hospital for a biopsy”, adding: “Hopefully all this will be over soon.”
