WWE and John Cena confirm huge Disney World crossover for historic Netflix broadcast

John Cena appeared on Monday Night Raw this week to make a special WWE announcement for December 14.

WWE is bringing the John Cena Classic to Walt Disney World for a historic night.

During last night’s (02.11.26) episode of Monday Night Raw, the wrestling legend turned Hollywood star finally unveiled the first details about his namesake tournament, including its date and location.

Speaking in the ring from Brooklyn, New York live on Netflix, Cena said: “Mark your calendars. December 14th, we are going to Disney World!

“December 14th is gonna make history because for the first time in history there will be two Raws on one Monday night.”

Cena confirmed that the first Monday Night Raw of the day will air live from Perth, Australia, followed by a second episode hours later from Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

WWE later added on X that the show will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which is within the Disney World resort close to the Hollywood Studios park.

The tournament will be held almost a year to the day since Cena retired from wrestling at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025.

After confirming the details for the event, the 17-time world champion unveiled the John Cena Classic Championship.

The new title belt takes inspiration from his classic ‘spinner’ version of the WWE Championship, as Cena added that he’s putting his “heart and soul” into the tournament.

He confirmed voting for the tournament’s champion will take place on Club WWE, the company’s new premium membership package.

Before leaving the ring, he announced Cody Rhodes as the “first ever invitee” to the event, and promised there will be more to come on Wednesday’s (04.11.26) episode of NXT, future editions of Raw and SmackDown, and Survivor Series on November 28.

The news of WWE bringing its flagship weekly Netflix show to Disney World comes as the iconic studio and wrestling giant have already got an arrangement as WWE’s premium live events air on Disney-owned ESPN in the US.

Meanwhile, Mark Shapiro, the head of WWE’s parent company TKO, recently teased more to come.

He told the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference: “When it comes to going after families, that’s our audience. I think advertisers are starting to see that.

“Frankly, I’m excited about 2027 as we’re working with the Walt Disney Company on some special events around Disney and WWE and bringing those two audiences together since, of course, what do they have in common? Family.”
