Andor star Adria Arjona has reflected on the lessons she learned from the “incredible Latina women” she grew up around.
Adria Arjona has insisted beauty is more about “knowing who you are” than perfection.
The 34-year-old actress has teamed up with L’Oréal Paris as the company’s newest global ambassador, and she has given her outlook on “simply being yourself” instead of fitting into preconceived notions.
She told WWD: “I’ve always believed that beauty isn’t about being perfect.
“It’s about knowing who you are, embracing what makes you different and being proud of where you come from.
“I grew up surrounded by incredible Latina women who taught me that strength, confidence and beauty come from within — and those are values I carry with me every day.
“I hope to remind women everywhere that there is so much beauty in simply being yourself. Porque tú lo vales.”
The beauty brand praised the Puerto Rican star for her “magnetic screen presence” and “unmistakable authenticity”.
Laura Branik, president of L’Oréal Paris USA, added: “For generations, L’Oréal Paris has believed every woman deserves to feel seen, valued and worth it.
“That belief is our foundation — and we continue to build on it by investing in people, research and innovation to serve the diversity of beauty around the world.
“Welcoming Adria Arjona, whose heritage is an important part of her perspective, is especially meaningful. We’re proud to have her voice in carrying our belief forward: ‘You’re Worth It.’”
On the big screen, Arjona has appeared in the likes of Pacific Rim Uprising, Father of the Bride, Hit Man, Blink Twice and Splitsville, with upcoming film roles including Man of Tomorrow and The Thomas Crown Affair.
Her TV credits include a recurring spot as Emily in True Detective, as well as main roles in Good Omens and Star Wars spinoff Andor.
While she is highly ambitious and fiercely determined, Adria previously insisted she doesn’t worry about competing with other actors and actresses.
Back in 2024, she told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m not competitive, but I’m very competitive with myself.
“I just don’t compete with other actors. That doesn’t make any sense.
“If I get a job or don’t get a job, it’s not up to me.”
