Josh Brolin and his wife Kathryn have renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas.
Josh Brolin and his wife have renewed their wedding vows.
The Dog Stars actor and his wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin, tied the knot in North Carolina in September 2016 and, following their recent milestone 10th wedding anniversary, they have reaffirmed their commitment to one another in a Las Vegas ceremony presided over by an Elvis Presley impersonator.
In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared photos of their celebrations at the Little White Wedding Chapel, and Kathryn captioned the album: “Vegas, Vows and Metallicaaaaa baby [flaming heart emojis] (sic)”
One photo showed Josh sweeping Kathryn off her feet beneath the venue’s Las Vegas wedding sign, while another depicted them sharing a kiss as the Elvis impersonator looked on.
The couple also posed for a family photo beneath the sign with their two daughters, Westlyn, eight, and five-year-old Chapel, whose faces were covered by heart emojis.
Kathryn wore a white dress with a sheer skirt and purple cowboy boots, while Josh – who has two adult children, Trevor and Eden, from his first marriage to Alice Adair – dressed casually in an unbuttoned black shirt, jeans and sunglasses.
When the pair celebrated their wedding anniversary in September, they shared heartfelt messages for one another on social media.
Photographer and filmmaker Kathryn posted pictures from their wedding day as she reflected on their life together.
She wrote: “10 Years of Us. Four kids between us, one scrappy dog, three major moves, travel all over, and more love than I could’ve imagined for one lifetime.
“I love you so much. It keeps getting better.”
The Weapons actor expressed his delight at finding a “playmate” to share his life with.
He wrote in his own post: “Growing up all I wanted was to find a playmate, someone to share the sandpit of this life with sharing whatever the imagination can conjure. Ten years and we’re still at it.”
Josh recently recalled how he made the decision to quit drinking when he “woke up on the sidewalk” outside his house and realised he had reached a “fork in the road” moment.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, he said: “Drinking got boring in the end. I woke up on the sidewalk outside my house, yet again, and it felt like a fork in the road. Which way was I going to go for the rest of my life?”
The 58-year-old star previously entered rehab for substance abuse in 2013 after he got involved in several public altercations in which he appeared to be intoxicated.
He has now been sober for 12 years and says life is better than ever sober.
He said: “I love being sober. I’m having way more fun now than I ever did drinking, and I never end up in jail, which is a real bonus.”
