Amazon ‘halts Kindle Colorsoft shipments’

Amazon is temporarily halting shipping Kindle Colorsofts until a solution has been found, after customers complained about screen discoloration.

Amazon has reportedly halted Kindle Colorsoft shipments.

The tech giant – whose first colour e-reader went on sale on October 30 – is temporarily stopping shipments until a solution has been found following customers’ complaints about screen discoloration.

Amazon’s spokesperson Jill Tornifoglio told The Verge: “We’re aware of a small number of reports from customers who see a yellow band along the bottom of the display.

“We take the quality of our products seriously and are looking into it.

“If customers notice this on their device, they can reach out to our customer service team.”

According to Good E-Reader, deliveries have been suspended for “up to a week or more”.

On the product’s buying page on Amazon.co.uk, customers can purchase the product, with free delivery being Friday, November 29.

Kindle Colorsoft, which boats a 7” high-contrast colour display and an auto-adjusting front light for £269.99.

A Reddit thread claims some users are seeing discoloration along a vertical edge and on the bottom.

However, others are pleased with the Kindle Colorsoft, with some praising the “sharper” and “vibrant” colours.
