King Charles will feature in a new feature-length documentary from Amazon based on his 2010 book ‘Harmony: A New Way of Looking At Our World’.
King Charles is to feature in a new Amazon documentary to “show, not tell” people how to transform the planet.
The feature-length film began shooting last month at Dumfries House in Scotland and will examine the approach the 76-year-old monarch outlined in his 2010 book ‘Harmony: A New Way of Looking At Our World’, which was written when he was still Prince of Wales and in which he called for a “dramatic revolution” in people’s ways of looking at the world.
Filmmakers will look at Charles’ charity work, both in the UK and overseas, and focus on his belief that people, nature, and the built environment are all linked.
A source told The Times newspaper: “Filming has started for the Amazon production and the crew have had some time with the King.
“More than any other documentary he has done before, the aim seems to be to tell the world what the King stands for and what he is all about.”
The king is said to be “greatly looking forward” to the documentary.
A palace source said: “The king is greatly looking forward to seeing how the Harmony concept can be communicated to a new and international audience, using some of the best creative talents in TV.
“It’s astonishing, really, what has been put into practice since publication of the original book, 15 years ago, and how many of those pioneering ideas have been adopted in differing ways.
“This is a chance to ‘show, not tell’ how they can transform people, places, and ultimately the planet. I think many will be genuinely amazed at the scale, scope and vision of it all, for which Dumfries House continues to be the ‘living laboratory’.”
According to the newspaper, it is understood that several different platforms were consulted on the idea before Amazon were given the seal of approval to go ahead.
The film, which is currently untitled, is expected to hit screens towards the end of this year or early in 2026.
