Tech giant Google has launched a new “AI Mode” search feature, which is billed as its “most powerful AI search” and will help users discover “hyper-relevant content” to match their questions.
Google has launched “AI Mode”, which the company is billing as its “most powerful AI search”.
Announcing the new feature, which is now available in the US, at their annual developers conference in Mountain View, California, the tech giant revealed a new AI Mode tab will appear in Search and in the Google app search bar.
Google says AI Mode will “dive deeper into the web” to help users discover “hyper-relevant content” to match their questions.
The company said in a blog post: “Under the hood, AI Mode uses our query fan-out technique, breaking down your question into subtopics and issuing a multitude of queries simultaneously on your behalf.
“This enables Search to dive deeper into the web than a traditional search on Google, helping you discover even more of what the web has to offer and find incredible, hyper-relevant content that matches your question.”
Sundar Pichai, the chief executive of Google-parent Alphabet, said at the conference: “What all this progress means is that we are in a new phase of the AI platform shift, where decades of research are now becoming reality for people all over the world.
“With more advanced reasoning, you can ask AI both longer and more complex queries.”
