Google has introduced a new feature called Deep Think for its Gemini AI platform, aimed at enhancing how users engage with complex problems.
Google has introduced a new AI feature called Deep Think for Gemini 2.5.
Announced in a company blog post, Deep Think is now available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, offering what Google describes as “a new way to break down and solve challenging problems over multiple steps”.
The tool is designed to help users tackle more involved tasks by prompting the AI to reflect more deeply before generating a response.
Google said in a statement: “Deep Think helps Gemini take more time to think through difficult problems.
“You can enable Deep Think in your settings and Gemini will take an extra moment to reason before responding, giving you higher-quality answers on tasks that need deeper analysis.”
The company explained that Deep Think is especially useful for technical, creative, or multi-layered queries – including programming tasks, strategic planning, and advanced writing assignments.
Users can toggle the feature on or off in settings, depending on whether they want quicker answers or more nuanced responses.
Gemini’s Deep Think is part of a broader update to Gemini 2.5, Google’s current leading AI model. According to wider reports, this model supports longer context windows and more refined outputs across both mobile and desktop platforms.
The rollout follows recent AI feature expansions across Google’s ecosystem, including new integrations in Search, Gmail, and Docs, as the company continues to challenge OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude.
Deep Think is currently limited to Gemini Advanced users – a paid tier in the Gemini platform – but Google has not ruled out broader availability in the future.
As competition in the AI assistant space intensifies, features like Deep Think may help Gemini stand out by offering more deliberate and reliable responses to complex user queries.
