Apple has unveiled the new iPhone 17 lineup alongside the iPhone Air.

The tech giant held its annual product launch event this week to show off its latest hardware, which includes the usual four handsets available from September 19.

However, this time round Apple has ditched the Plus model in favour of the ultra-slim and lightweight Air.

The new device – which measures at just 5.6 millimetres thick – comes with just one camera, while a MagSafe battery pack will be available for those concerned about battery power.

The Pro models now come with a Camera Plateau design, including a vapour chamber cooling system which can regulate the heat which comes with the processor boost.

The devices all boast a 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 4x optical and 8x “optical-like” zoom.

The new phones all use the company’s new N1 wireless networking chip, which supports, Thread, Bluetooth 6 and Wi-Fi 7.

Selfie-takers will be happy too, as the new 18-megalpixel selfie camera supports Center Stage, keeping you centred in frame automatically.

Apple is also dropping three new watches, including an overdue revamp of the Watch SE.

The entry-level device now has the latest S10 chip, giving it a lot of the features which previously were only available on pricier devices, such as sleep tracking.

Meanwhile, satellite messaging – which launched on the iPhone last year – is available on all three watches this year.

If you’re off grid, the feature lets you text people via the watch, while it can also send your location to emergency services and contacts if it detects an accident.
