The 32-year-old rapper – who has Kulture, seven, Wave, four and Blossom, 12 months, with the Open It Up hitmaker – filed for divorce from the 33-year-old rapper in 2024 after seven years of marriage, and while Cardi has “no animosity” for her ex anymore, she wishes “he was a better person”.
During an appearance on CBS Mornings, she said: “I just wish he was a better person, but it is what it is. Be a better person for your kids.
“I don’t really have hate in my heart anymore.
“I think he has some type of hate in his heart right now … I don’t know how long that’s gonna take for him but that’s always been my wish.”
Cardi added she didn’t want to co-parent their children together, as “it’s not about the kids”.
She explained: “I get along with everybody that I dated. If we all move on, there shouldn’t be no animosity. Your life, my life. Separate. We should be able to raise kids.
“We should be able to ask each other questions. We should be able to be like, ‘Hey, look what one of the kids just did,’ ‘Look at this,’ ‘Look at the report card.’ We should be able to celebrate but it’s not about the kids.
“One thing I’m learning is it’s not about the kids.”
The WAP charttopper admitted she was “so tired” of being associated with Offset.
She said: “I filed for divorce a year ago. That should be very clear. I don’t deal with that, I don’t mess with that, I don’t have no contact with that.”

This comes after the I Like It hitmaker revealed she was expecting her first child with her boyfriend Stefon Diggs, 31.
She said: “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs.
“I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work.
“But I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby, me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other.”
