Regina Hall teases ‘big reunion’ for Scary Movie 6

With the film set to hit screens next summer, Regina Hall has teased Scary Movie 6 will be “a big reunion for everyone”.

Regina Hall has teased Scary Movie 6 will be “a big reunion for everyone”.

The 54-year-old actress is set to reprise her role as Brenda Meeks in the upcoming horror spoof, and Hall has now promised Scary Movie 6 will see the return of “so many of the original cast members” – including Anna Faris, 48.

Speaking with Collider about the movie’s script, she said: “That one I’ve read. It’s funny, and it’s great.

“I’m very excited to be working with Anna again, the Wayans again, and so many of the original cast members. It’s a big reunion for everyone.”

Hall’s Brenda and Faris’s Cindy were last seen in 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and the One Battle After Another actress thinks the two characters “can’t be anywhere good” by the events of Scary Movie 6.

She said: “I know they can’t be anywhere good. Nobody’s trajectory looked that promising from that crew.

“I don’t think anyone’s changing the world, but who knows? Who knows? I’m excited for Scary Movie fans to see it. It’s been a very long time, but I’m excited to revisit Brenda. Wow. I’m like, ‘Brenda, what are we doing now? Where are you?’”

Reflecting on her return for Scary Movie 6 – which is due to hit cinemas in June 2026 – Hall said she “always had so much fun” making the spoof films.

She gushed: “One of the great things about Scary Movie is we all always had so much fun making them, so I’m really looking forward to the fun part and how much fun I think we’ll all have seeing each other again and getting the gang back together.”

Recently, Scary Movie co-creator Marlon Wayans admitted the upcoming film “may offend people”.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 53-year-old actor said: “It’s how we always do it. We just want to make everybody laugh, and we don’t care if you’re sensitive.

“Even sensitive people need to laugh at themselves. Just know that we’re not just laughing at you, you get the chance to laugh at others.

“When we did White Chicks, we made fun of everybody. We made fun of Black people, we made fun of white people, we made fun of Hispanic people. That’s just what we do.

“We make fun of the world, make light of the world. It’s not to harm, it’s to bring humour.

“You may offend people here and there, but, hey, not every joke’s gonna land 100 percent, but if you tell a joke and 100 people laugh and one person walks out, that’s still a good joke.”

The Him star – who is co-writing the script with his brothers Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans – promised Scary Movie 6 will be a “great conversation piece”.

He explained: “[It is something] that we can all sit down and laugh together, over three generations of people who haven’t had great comedy in a long time.

“I think you have to acknowledge how comedy has changed. Not just horror has changed, but films have changed, the audience has changed, the world has shifted. I think the way to do that is to make the generational gap part of the conversation.”
