Lukas Gage has ‘no regrets’ about marrying Chris Appleton on The Kardashians

Lukas Gage and his ex-husband Chris Appleton got hitched on The Kardashians in 2023, but even though their marriage lasted only seven months, Lukas has “no regrets” about their nuptials being publicised on the TV show.

Lukas Gage has “no regrets” about marrying Chris Appleton.

The 30-year-old actor married the 42-year-old hairstylist in April 2023 after just a few months of dating and their nupitals were officiated by Kim Kardashian and broadcast on her reality show The Kardashians, and though the White Lotus star sometimes wishes their big day hadn’t been public, he learned a lot from his seven-month marriage.

Appearing on the latest episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, host Amanda Hirsch asked Lukas: “Do you sometimes wish that you hadn’t…”

He chimed in: “Gotten married on The Kardashians? Yeah, but no regrets. Hashtag no regrets for real.

“Look, I learned so much about it.”

Lukas pointed out that it was a difficult time because he did not “know who that person was” – referencing himself at the time.

And he added that a factor was the medication he took at the time.

He explained: “I don’t recognise that person.

“I don’t know who that person is. And that is really, really disturbing.

“I don’t know that. I don’t see anyone beyond the eyes …

“It’s like I talk about, there is a very crazy way that sometimes we go about prescribing people medication.

“And I can joke about it and have humility and laugh about it because it’s funny and it’s like, whatever.”

But Lukas does not want to “put blame on that” because he “felt like he was in love” at the time.

He added: “There was a part of me that was, you know, in love or felt like he was in love and happy and just going with the flow or thought he was happy and going with the flow.

“But there was another part of me that I didn’t recognise myself, and everyone around me didn’t recognise who I was.”

Once the Road House star got off the unnamed medication, he “suddenly had clarity”.

Lukas said: “And then getting off of them, I suddenly had clarity, and I was like, ‘Oh s***.’ I just blew up my life.”

The actor previously blamed his marriage on a “manic episode”.

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live!, host Andy Cohen said he was surprised his guest had got married so quickly.

Lukas agreed: “Manic, absolutely unhinged. I had a manic episode for six months.”

Referring to the fur coats he and Chris wore as they exchanged vows in Las Vegas, he added: “Those jackets, those furry jackets…

“What happened to me? I don’t know, literally, what went through my head. But we live and we learn…

“That’s kind of how I roll. I’m a little impulsive, you know me, but that was probably one of the most unhinged things I’ve ever done in my life. And I’ll probably have six other marriages, it’s just who I am.”

He went on to apologise to Shania Twain, saying he was sorry for “wasting” her time after the 60-year-old singer serenaded the couple with You’re Still the One on their big day.

He said: “I want to apologise to Shania Twain for wasting her time. I mean, ‘we’re still holding on,’ ‘you’re still the one’ after, like, three weeks? That was unhinged. That was the biggest waste of her time. But, I love you, Shania. I’m really sorry about that.”
