Google expands AI Try On feature to more countries

Google has expanded its AI-powered virtual Try On shopping feature to new countries, allowing users to see how clothes and shoes would look on diverse models using realistic generative AI visuals.

Google is expanding its AI-powered Try On feature to more countries, bringing its advanced fashion-shopping tool to more countries after its successful launch in the U.S.

The feature, now available through Google Shopping, lets users virtually see how clothing items might look on a range of realistic body types using generative AI.

Try On builds on Google’s commitment to making online retail more inclusive and accurate – helping shoppers make better-informed decisions before purchasing.

According to Google’s official blog, the AI Try On tool uses deep learning models to generate photorealistic images of clothing on diverse models of different body shapes, sizes, and skin tones.

The result is a more personalised, human-like shopping experience that “brings online shopping closer to the real-world experience.”

Initially introduced for U.S. shoppers last year, the expansion now includes markets such as the UK, Canada, India, and Japan, with support for new product categories like shoes, tops, and activewear.

The tool currently supports items from major fashion retailers including Anthropologie, Everlane, H+M, and LOFT, with Google confirming that more brands will join in the coming months.

Shoppers can access the Try On feature by searching for specific clothing items through Google Shopping and tapping the Try On button, which displays how the garment drapes and fits across different model types.

The company says the technology can accurately simulate material textures, folds, and movement – something that traditional product photos cannot achieve.

The expansion also ties into Google’s broader AI-driven shopping improvements, including smarter price alerts, visual search via Google Lens, and enhanced product comparisons.

With AI reshaping the future of e-commerce, Google’s Try On feature aims to bridge the gap between physical and digital shopping.
