After several setbacks, Sonic Rumble will be launching in November 2025.
SEGA and Rovio have confirmed that Sonic Rumble will launch in November 2025.
The mobile and PC “arcade royale” title – developed by the Angry Birds studio – was originally slated for release in early 2024, but faced multiple delays as the team focused on improving gameplay and performance.
In a new blog post, SEGA said: “We know you’re super excited to dash, jump, and compete in the ultimate arcade royale, and guess what? So are we!
“Our whole journey to get this game ready for you has been all about one thing: making a game that truly lives up to the Sonic name.”
According to SEGA, the extra time allowed for extensive player feedback and three major overhauls.
The first was a deeper, more dynamic core, adding crew-based events, new stages, and competitive mechanics like power-ups to block opponents.
The second focused on streamlining progression, improving onboarding for newcomers and introducing a simplified hub for missions and achievements.
Lastly, SEGA said it revamped rewards and cosmetics, ensuring every unlock feels “meaningful and impactful”.
The studio added: “The Sonic Rumble you’ll play this November is the absolute best version possible – designed, polished, and perfected with you, our players, in mind.”
With its mix of party-style chaos, competitive multiplayer, and Sonic’s signature speed, Sonic Rumble looks set to deliver the franchise’s most accessible multiplayer outing yet when it launches next month.
