Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has been delayed.
The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 port of FromSoftware’s iconic fantasy-RPG was due to release at some point this year, but the studio has now confirmed Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has been pushed back to 2026 to “allow time for performance adjustments”.
In a statement posted on X, FromSoftware said: “While development on #ELDENRING Tarnished Edition continues wholeheartedly toward release, we have decided to move the launch to 2026 to allow time for performance adjustments.
“We apologize to players looking forward to the game and thank you for your patience and support.”
FromSoftware had announced Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition at a Nintendo Direct showcase in April, with the title confirmed to include the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, new armour and a new Torrent apeparance customisation feature.
The Studio said in a statement at the time: “With over 28 million copies sold worldwide, ELDEN RING is an award-winning, action RPG set in an authentic dark fantasy world. Explore treacherous dungeons and face epic boss battles.
“ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 includes the base game, SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE, and new weapons, armour Torrent skins, and more.”
