Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders hit a new peak of nearly 500,000 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing Battlefield 6 and cementing its status as one of 2025’s biggest shooter launches.
Arc Raiders has once again shattered its own records – reaching nearly half a million concurrent players on Steam over the weekend.
According to official Valve data, the the free-to-play extraction shooter hit a new peak of 462,488 concurrent players on November 9, eclipsing its previous high of 264,673 set just a week earlier.
That surge pushed Arc Raiders past Battlefield 6 (441,035) to become the fourth most-played title on Steam, trailing only behind Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and PUBG.
The milestone caps off a remarkable debut for developer Embark Studios’ long-awaited shooter, which blends extraction-style PvPvE gameplay with striking sci-fi aesthetics and large-scale co-op battles against AI-controlled foes.
The title’s early success is being attributed to its polished launch, balanced monetisation model, and strong word of mouth, a rare feat in a genre dominated by giants like Escape from Tarkov and The Division 2.
While Arc Raiders’ console numbers remain unknown, player activity on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S likely pushed its total concurrent count far beyond 500,000.
The game’s official X account acknowledged the milestone, thanking fans for the “incredible support” and teasing “new content drops” for later this month.
With Arc Raiders now ranking among Steam’s biggest live-service launches of 2025, Embark appears poised to establish its first breakout franchise since being founded by former Battlefield veterans.
Arc Raiders tops its own Steam concurrent player count again at nearly 500k
