Assassin’s Creed Black Flag ‘remake releasing before end of March 2026’

Ubisoft is reportedly planning to launch its long-rumoured Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake by the end of March 2026.

The remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will reportedly launch before March 31, 2026.

According to Insider Gaming, the supposed reimagining of the 2013 action/adventure title is the lone mystery project listed in Ubisoft’s newly published – and recently delayed – financial deck, which outlines one final major release scheduled for the company’s current fiscal year.

Sources familiar with the slate claim that unnamed project is indeed the Black Flag remake, currently planned for the week of March 23, 2026.

The timing aligns with recent reports surrounding the rebooted version of Black Flag, which many fans regard as one of the strongest entries in the Assassin’s Creed series.

It had previously been reported that the remake will lean more heavily into RPG elements, bringing it closer in style to modern Assassin’s Creed instalments like Origins and Odyssey – though Ubisoft itself has yet to acknowledge the project publicly.

Hints around the remake come as Ubisoft touts strong performance across the broader Assassin’s Creed franchise.

In its latest earnings call, the company highlighted AC Mirage surpassing 10 million sales, crediting its back-to-basics approach and a warmly received Saudi-funded content update.

Meanwhile, this year’s series entry, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, hasn’t received updated sales numbers, though Ubisoft says its New Game+ mode and Claws of Awaji expansion have “benefited” engagement ahead of its upcoming Switch 2 debut.
