Cher ‘in advanced talks’ for ‘£13M’ Netflix tell-all series deal

It has been reported that pop icon Cher is having “advanced” discussions with the streaming giant Netflix to secure a “£13 million” deal for a seven-part tell-all series.

Cher is reportedly in “advanced” talks to secure a massive “£13 million” deal with Netflix for a tell-all series.

The streaming giant docuseries – claimed to be called Sharing Her Story and consisting of seven hour-long episodes – will see the 79-year-old music legend relive her marriages to Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, as well as reflect on her illustrious career for the first time on camera.

It is set to be released in 2026, alongside the delayed second part of the Believe hitmaker’s memoir.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Cher has been in talks with Netflix for months and, finally, the deal is as good as done.

“They have agreed to a seven-part series which will delve into the highs and lows of her life.

“It’s said to be worth £13 million, and the project is tentatively called Sharing Her Story – with the pun fully intended.”

The first part of Cher: The Memoir explored her relationship with Sonny – whom she married in 1964 and divorced in 1975.

Cher – who has 56-year-old son, Chaz, with Sonny – also spoke about becoming famous with her first husband, who died in 1998 following a skiing accident at the age of 62.

She also reflected on how Sonny arranged their finances to make Cher his employee, which she was initially unaware of.

After their divorce, Cher married Gregg Allman – who died of liver cancer at the age of 69 in 2017 – and they had Elijah, 49, together, but divorced in 1979.

The DJ Play a Christmas Song singer said she felt “exhausted” by writing her memoir.

In November 2024, Cher told the New York Times: “This book has exhausted me. It took a lot out of me. Too much life. Lived too long.

“People can say what they want. It’s who I am. I am who I am. I can’t change it.”

Cher has been dating music executive Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 39, since November 2022.

And she recently hit back at criticism over their 40-year age gap – insisting they are having “a blast”.

During an interview on CBS Mornings, host Gayle King, 70, asked Cher about criticism over the age-gap, and the singer replied: “Whatever.

“They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.”

Cher then insisted Alexander has no issue with the age difference, saying: “No [he doesn’t], thank God. He just says: ‘You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger’.

“We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him. I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.”

Cher also revealed she gets on well with Alexander’s six-year-old son, Slash, from a previous relationship.

She said: “I used to say: ‘God, give me a toddler and a man,” before adding she got “exactly” what she asked for.

Speaking about Slash, Cher gushed: “He’s so funny. He’s so smart. He’s a delight.”
