Shab finds practical solution to jumpsuit problems

Shab doesn’t want women to choose between “great styling and practical comfort” so has created an innovative new jumpsuit.

Shab doesn’t want women to choose between “great styling and practical comfort”.

The Skin and Bones hitmaker grew frustrated with the impractical elements of wearing a jumpsuit and so, to combat being in a “confusing tangle”, she created DropTrou, an innovative garment featuring DropCut™ technology that allows wearers to simply pull down the back of their jumpsuits in order to use the bathroom.

She said: “”My dancers and my girlfriends have for years talked about the problem with wearing jumpsuits – who wants to strip down to their knees in a public restroom when nature calls? We all agreed that there had to be a better way… and I am quite proud to say that, after a year of hard work with my team, now there is!

“I have never understood why fashion should be uncomfortable or a confusing tangle. Your clothing should complement your life, not complicate it – why should women have to choose between great styling and practical comfort?”

In addition to owning the firm, Shab serves as Chief Customer Officer, Chief Stylist and the primary spokesperson for the DropTrou line, and she and her dancers have been wearing the jumpsuits on stage and in some of her music videos, including for her latest festive single Santa Baby.

She said: “This line of jumpsuits will be somewhat special in that crowded marketplace as all of the garments allow women to avoid the indignity of having to strip they’re jumpsuits down to their knees when they need to use the restroom: and instead are able to simply and quickly pull down the backs of their jumpsuits for such purpose.

“It’s a really cool utilitarian concept — and I ended up founding DropTrou as my own firm earlier this year to pursue the concept, rather than partner with an established athleisure or sportswear firm.”
