LG is set to unveil its first Micro RGB television at CES 2026, combining OLED-level precision, advanced AI processing and industry-leading color accuracy in a new flagship display that pushes LCD technology beyond MiniLED.
LG Electronics is set to pull the wraps off its first-ever Micro RGB television at CES 2026.
The new flagship LG Micro RGB evo – a CES 2026 Innovation Awards winner – marks a major leap forward for large-format LCD displays.
At the heart of the TV is Micro RGB Technology, which uses LG’s smallest individual RGB LEDs to push beyond the limits of MiniLED.
Drawing on more than a decade of OLED expertise, LG applies OLED-like precision to control each RGB LED backlight, delivering finer color control and dramatically improved accuracy.
Powering the display is LG’s latest Dual AI Engine-based α11 AI Processor Gen 3.
The chip introduces Dual Super Upscaling, allowing two types of AI upscaling to run simultaneously, boosting sharpness while keeping images natural and balanced.
The result is a picture that prioritises clarity and immersion over artificial punch.
Thanks to RGB Primary Color Ultra, the Micro RGB evo has been certified by Intertek for 100 percent color gamut coverage across BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB – effectively the holy trinity for HDR cinema, creative work and next-generation display standards.
Contrast is handled by Micro Dimming Ultra, which coordinates more than a thousand dimming zones to reveal detail in both the darkest shadows and brightest highlights. LG says this delivers class-leading contrast for an LCD TV.
The experience is rounded out by a personalised webOS interface with Voice ID, AI Picture and Sound Wizard, and an upgraded AI Concierge.
The LG Micro RGB evo (model MRGB95) will launch in 100-inch, 86-inch and 75-inch sizes, with hands-on demos running at LG’s CES booth from January 6 to January 9.
