Hollywood actress Minnie Driver is “so glad” she found love with her fiancé Addison O’Dea, but she believes women shouldn’t feel “incomplete” if they don’t have a man in their lives.
Minnie Driver is “so glad” she found love with her fiancé Addison O’Dea.
The 55-year-old star – who has previously dated stars including Matt Damon and John Cusack, and was engaged to Josh Brolin – has been dating the filmmaker, 46, since 2018, but she has encouraged women to be “celebratorily OK” if they don’t ever meet Mr. Right.
She told Grazia magazine: “1,000 per cent embrace the notion that you’re never going to meet anyone ever again. Sit with it. Become celebratorily OK with it.
“Then if a guy walks into your life – great. And if a guy doesn’t walk into your life – also great. I would’ve been fine if Addison had never shown up, though I’m so glad he did.”
The Good Will Hunting star believes women shouldn’t feel “incomplete” if they don’t have a man in their lives.
She added: “But we’ve got to get over the idea that we are incomplete if we don’t have a man. It’s not true.”
Last year, Minnie gushed over Addison, admitting she trusts him with her “whole heart”.
She told PEOPLE magazine: “I trust him with all of my heart … Addy doesn’t have an ulterior motive.
“What I’ve realised is love is made up of all these things, but I’ve never seen them right off the bat in a person: respect, kindness, compassion, friendship, intelligence, humour and enormous security. I saw them very quickly in Addison.”
While Minnie is thought to be engaged to Addison, she previously admitted he doesn’t want to marry.
She told The Times newspaper: “I’m with someone who doesn’t want to get married but who is the most devoted, loving, extraordinary … Everything I could have wanted in my childhood idea of a husband, he actually is.”
