Macaulay Culkin pays tribute to Home Alone co-star Catherine O’Hara

Macaulay Culkin has taken to social media to pay tribute to Catherine O’Hara, his Home Alone co-star.

Macaulay Culkin has paid a heartfelt tribute to Catherine O’Hara.

The 45-year-old actor has taken to social media to reflect on the passing of his former Home Alone co-star, who has died aged 71.

Alongside two throwback photos of himself and Catherine, the actor wrote on Instagram: “Mama.

“I thought we had time.

“I wanted more.

“I wanted to sit in a chair next to you.

“I heard you.

“But I had so much more to say.

“I love you.

“I’ll see you later. (sic)”

One of the photos was taken from when Macaulay and Catherine starred together in the Home Alone film franchise. The second photo was taken in 2023, when the late actress supported Macaulay at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

Catherine – who played the actor’s on-screen mom – said that day: “Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation … the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin.”

Elsewhere, Pedro Pascal has also taken to social media to heap praise on his former co-star.

The actor – who starred alongside Catherine in The Last of Us – wrote on Instagram: “Oh, genius to be near you. Eternally grateful. There is less light in my world, this lucky world that had you, will keep you, always. Always [heart emoji]

Meanwhile, David Furnish has hailed Catherine as a “brilliant actress and comedian”.

The 63-year-old filmmaker – who is married to Sir Elton John – wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “Absolutely devastated to hear of the passing of Catherine O’Hara. A brilliant actress and comedian. She’s kept me roaring with laughter for DECADES. From Lola Heatherton on @sctv in Canada in the 70’s to Moira Rose on @schittscreek today – and all the roles in between. I’ve loved everything she’s done. How brilliant to leave such a legacy of artistic excellence and laughter. #CatherineOHara #RIP (sic)”
