Charli XCX hails ‘legendary’ co-star Kylie Jenner

Charli XCX has lavished praise on Kylie Jenner, who makes a cameo appearance in The Moment.

Charli XCX loved working with Kylie Jenner on The Moment.

The 33-year-old singer stars alongside Kylie, 28, in her new mockumentary film, and Charli has revealed that she relished her experience of working with the make-up mogul.

Speaking at a Q and A in Brooklyn, Charli shared: “I really enjoyed shooting the Kylie scene, obviously.”

The new film features cameo appearances from a host of big-name stars, including Kylie and Rachel Sennott. And Charli admits that she had a huge amount of fun during the shoot.

She shared: “The first scene we shot for the film was with Rachel and the last day was with Kylie. So we sort of bookended with two legends, which was pretty cool … two people playing themselves.”

Charli found working with Kylie – who has achieved billionaire status through her make-up brand – to be really easy.

The singer explained: “I think with the Kylie scene, it was so fun, because it really was so easy and effortless and she really, like, played with it, did her thing.”

The Moment marks Charli’s first major leading role in a film, and the chart-topping star opened up about her preparations for the project.

Charli – who released her acclaimed Brat album in 2024 – said: “I play — I hope — a slightly different version of my real self in this film. I don’t think I’m quite that much of a nightmare the whole time, but I wouldn’t really be the best person to ask about that.

“The thing about the Charli in the film is all of the scenarios that my character in the film goes through could have happened if I made slightly different decisions in my own life and in my own career.

“Obviously I assume that most of you here know that this is not what happened when it came to Brat and going on tour and things like that.”

Meanwhile, Charli recently admitted that she would “love” to do more acting.

The pop singer – who stars in The Moment, and also created the soundtrack for the new Wuthering Heights film – told Extra: “It’s amazing.

“I feel so inspired to be working in film, whether that be as an actor or a producer or doing the soundtrack.

“I just I feel like really passionate about working with directors who I think have a singular vision, and I feel so grateful that I’m a part of both of the projects.”

Asked if she’d like to do more acting in the future, Charli replied: “Yeah, I’d love to. I’d love to.”
