Rose Byrne still gets starstruck meeting one of her famous friends

If I Had Legs I’d Kick You actress Rose Byrne has opened up about some famous friendships, and revealed one pop star she still becomes a “10-year-old girl” around.

Rose Byrne still becomes a “10-year-old girl” around Kylie Minogue.

The 46-year-old Australian actress grew up a huge fan of the I Should Be So Lucky hitmaker, and while they’ve become “a little bit friendly” over the years, she can’t stop feeling starstruck whenever they’re together.

She told Tattler magazine: “I went to all her concerts… I am a little bit friendly with her now. I’m still a 10-year-old girl if I’m around her.”

The If I Had Legs I’d Kick You star is no stranger to meeting her heroes, as she once got chatting to Jack Nicholson in a queue for the bathroom at a basketball game.

She recalled: “I met him at a basketball game, the Lakers, waiting for the bathroom.

“I think a girl had gone into the boys’ bathroom or something, and he’s like, ‘Are you waiting for the bathroom?’

“I was like, ‘Yeah, I think someone’s broken the rules – a girl’s gone into the men’s bathroom.’

“He looked at me and said, ‘Maybe we should break the rules too.’ He’s one of my favourite actors.”

The Bridesmaids star is still good friends with Glenn Close, after they started working together on the first season of legal drama Damages, which launched in 2007.

She said: “I had a masterclass with Glenn Close for five seasons.

“To see how hard she works, when you’re that status – she works on every scene so specifically. We’re still very close.”

Meanwhile, Rose’s partner and fellow actor Bobby Cannavale has some famous pals of his own, including star-studded poker nights with the likes of Paul Rudd, Jon Hamm and Al Pacino.

Rose revealed: “Bobby’s very close with him. He’s very sweet and as eccentric as you could imagine.”

She and Bobby have sons Rocco, nine, and Rafa, eight, together and she recently admitted being a parent is tougher than any of her on-screen roles.

She told The Sunday People newspaper’s Love Sunday magazine: “It’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do.

“The role of your life is to be a parent. And I’m married to an actor, so of course it’s a constant push and pull of figuring it out and, ‘What does my family need? Where is my career going?'”
