Pop star Katy Perry is determined to make it work with Justin Trudeau, according to a source.
Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have been “determined” to make their long-distance relationship work.
The 41-year-old pop star and the former Canadian Prime Minister started dating in 2025, following Katy’s split from ex-fiance Orlando Bloom, and the celebrity duo are “determined to make it work” despite the challenges they face.
A source told People: “The priority for both of them is stability for the kids. Katy and Justin have had to be flexible to make the relationship work.
“They travel whenever they can to spend time together. The long-distance dynamic was never a surprise to them.”
Katy has daughter Daisy Dove, five, with Orlando, while Justin has Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 17, and Hadrien, 12, with his estranged wife Sophie.
The couple “understood from the beginning that their lives were complicated and that it wouldn’t be the easiest relationship logistically”.
However, Katy and Justin “really wanted to see where things could go, and have been determined to make it work”.
The insider added: “She fell for him early on because he really showed that he was interested.
“They’ve already had to navigate a lot of logistics. The fact that they’ve been willing to do that says a lot about how serious they are about each other.”
Meanwhile, a source previously claimed that Katy and Justin “have a lot in common”.
The pair were spotted together in Montreal in 2025, and an insider claimed that there is “an attraction” between the duo.
The source told People at the time: “They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes.
“She is travelling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.”
Katy – who is one of the world’s best-selling pop stars – and Justin share a love of music, too.
The insider explained: “Music is one of many things they can share. Both are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult.”
