Apple is reportedly looking to give the iPhone keyboard a Grammarly-style upgrade.
The tech giant will be giving everyone a first peek at iOS 27 during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, and it’s said the company is considering ways to help users with their typing.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is looking at enhancing its autocorrect feature by offering alternative words.
The outlet’s reporter Mark Gurman noted that the approach would be “similar to tools like Grammarly”.
It’s noted that a final decision on the autocorrect update is yet to be made.
Apple has been taking steps to improve autocorrect in recent months, after iPhone users have spent years complaining about its accuracy.
More recently, people had become frustrated after seeing iOS ignore some characters tapped in if you were typing quickly.
This could force people to pause and try again, or even result in the missing characters causing autocorrect to change the word to something the user wasn’t intending.
In the most recent iOS 26.4 update, the company insisted they had “improved keyboard accuracy when typing quickly”.
When it comes to the potential Grammarly comparison, iOS has already introduced writing assistance through Apple Intelligence.
Using Writing Tools, iPhone users can already choose from Proofread, Rewrite, Friendly, Professional or Concise, along with summary options and AI formatting.
