Melanie Griffith has being asked about her daughter Dakota Johnson’s romance with singer Role Model.
Melanie Griffith thinks Dakota Johnson’s partner Role Model is “fabulous”.
The 36-year-old actress has been linked to the 28-year-old singer – whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury – since December, with the couple recently pictured at Sir Paul McCartney’s Los Angeles concert.
In a video shared by Deuxmoi, Melanie commented on her daughter’s relationship, simply describing it as “fabulous”.
Asked if they have her seal of approve, she added: “Of course [they] do.”
Dakota – whose father is Miami Vice star Don Johnson – previously credited her mother Melanie for instilling a sense of confidence in her from a young age.
She told Vogue Germany: “My mom was just very open about the topic of bodies.
“She taught us how to take care of our bodies and love them, and that our bodies are beautiful.
“And I think that’s something really important for a young girl because we’re constantly told that we’re not good enough.”
She continued: “And if you’re not told from a young age by the woman you look up to the most that you’re perfect and smart and special and strong and brave, it can really break you. It’s hard to re-teach yourself that love later on. That was a huge gift she gave me.”
In the interview, the Verity star was asked whether she ever worries “about whether a naked dress might be ‘too sexy’ after sparking conversation around her bold red carpet outfits.
Dakota replied candidly: “I really don’t care.”
She added: “I’ve been able to wear some of the most beautiful dresses, and I feel beautiful in them, so I wear them.”
She continued: “Sometimes those dresses look good on me. But there are also some we’ve tried on that didn’t look good at all. It depends on the shape, the finish, the colour, and everything else.
“So if I find a beautiful dress that I feel comfortable in, of course I want to wear it! And it’s fun to wear a sexy dress.”
