Denise Richards’ daughter has been left devastated by Patrick Muldoon’s death, but was cheered when she received what she thinks was a sign from the late actor.

The 55-year-old actress previously dated the Melrose Place actor for almost five years and they remained friends and collaborators afterwards, so her eldest child Sami Sheen – whose father is Denise’s ex-husband Charlie Sheen – has reflected on how she “grew up” with Patrick as a key part of her life until his shock death on Sunday (20.04.26) following a heart attack.

Sami took to her Instagram Story to share photos and video clips of Denise and Patrick and wrote: “Patrick was someone that everyone loved. he was so quick witted and humble but still made sure everyone knew he was a rockstar and never cared what people thought about him. from day 1 till the last day I saw him, he’s never changed/

“I’ve been lucky enough to grow up with him and i have yet to live my life without him. the friendship him and my mom had was so beautiful + something not many people get to experience.(sic)”

The OnlyFans model pledged Patrick will be “missed every single day”.

She concluded: “I hope i wake up from this nightmare soon.”

Sami then shared another Instagram Story featuring what she felt was a message from Patrick.

Alongside a photo of a heart-shaped cloud in the sky, she wrote: “Right after he passed i was sitting outside begging for a sign from him to let us know that he’s okay and made it to the other side, and then a couple minutes later i looked up and saw this in the sky. can’t be a coincidence.(sic)”

Denise and Patrick first met in an acting class in the 1990s before starring together in the 1997 film Starship Troopers.

The pair dated for nearly five years before remaining close friends and collaborators, most recently working together on the upcoming crime thriller Dirty Hands, scheduled for digital release on 24 April.

And the Wild Things actress recently shared her own tribute to her “best friend”, admitting the death of the Days of Our Lives star had left her “deeply heartbroken”.

She wrote on Instagram: “I am deeply heartbroken and devastated losing you. You were my best friend and my family.

“We met in our first acting class, I was 19 never had an acting job and you were 21 a student at USC doing a recurring role on Who’s the Boss.

“And here we are. 36 years later. My whole adult life and I don’t know it without you.”

She continued in her emotional Instagram post – which was accompanied with a video montage featuring images and clips of the pair over several decades, set to the song Everything I Own by Bread: “The friendship, love, support, respect and loyalty we had was unconditional and rare. You lit up every room you walked into.

“You are larger than life and everyone was drawn to you. So talented and most underrated actor. And most humble. Everything you did was infectious. Your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion and your zest for life.

“We’ve been each other’s rock. Our memories together are endless. You’ve had my back and protected me more than anyone.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here.”

Denise – who is in the midst of a bitter divorce from Aaron Phypers – hailed Patrick a “voice of reason and pillar of strength”.

She added: “Especially during this last year of pain and heartache. And now I need you more than ever, for this pain and heartache losing you.

“Schweet babe we’ve had those conversations. We thought we’d live forever or at least into our 90’s. Schweet babe I will be looking for those signs. I need to know you’re still here with me. I love you so much and miss you dearly schweet babe.”
