Former Dancing with the Stars pro Cheryl Burke divorced actor Matthew Lawrence in 2022, and as she has enjoyed being single, Cheryl may not date again – but has not completely ruled it out.
Dancing with the Stars alum Cheryl Burke may never date again.
Following her divorce from Mrs. Doubtfire actor Matthew Lawrence in 2022 after nearly three years of marriage, Cheryl has embraced single life, but she may dip her toes back in the dating pool if the right man came into her life.
Cheryl, 41, told Us Weekly: “I am dating myself, and so far it’s going too good. I don’t know if I ever want to be dating again, to be quite honest, but if it happens, so be it. I’m not searching, that’s for sure.”
But she will “never” use a dating app to find love.
Cheryl explained: “I don’t even know what that is. All I know is that I look at my phone enough that if I put a dating app on there, you’ll never get my eyes ever. I’ll turn cross-eyed. So there you go.”
Since she divorced Matthew, 46, in 2022, the Dance Moms star has chosen celibacy, and four years later, nothing has changed.
Cheryl shared she is “still going strong,” but added being celibate has “absolutely” been a good decision “just for my own self-respect and life for myself”.
The model continued: “I think it’s power when it comes to that type of stuff,” she continued. “And I think it’s something that I needed my whole life, so giving it to myself now, there we go.”
Boy Meets World cast member Matthew found love with TLC member Rozonda Thomas, 55, in the same year he and Cheryl divorced.
And in 2023, Cheryl said she was not interested in dating just yet.
The brunette beauty said: “I think I definitely have a lot of growing and evolving to do, and now…I have the time to really do that without the anxiety of a timeline.
“It couldn’t have happened at a better time, because I’m ready for it now. I mean, I deserve it. I’ve always put everyone in front of me, so this is the first time I’m actually being selfish, but in a good way.
“I feel at peace, at ease, and I’m just excited. I feel like I’ve been a reborn human being here on this planet because it’s so many changes, right?
“My career, my personal life. But I still have my dog! It’s been really nice to just be with someone who may not have an opinion, but still is very opinionated. She definitely is.
“They say that your dog is like your owner, so it’s kind of scary.”
