Mel B’s daughter Phoenix Brown has a close bond with Sir David and Victoria Beckham’s sons.
The 27-year-old DJ has revealed she “literally grew up” with Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, and Cruz Beckham, 21, because their mothers were in the Spice Girls together revealing they were all born in the same hospital and she’s stayed in touch with all the boys over the years and they try to see each other as often as possible.
She told Hello! magazine: “We were born in the same hospital – I literally grew up with them. I have so many good memories of me and the boys. We were around each other’s houses a lot.
“It was like having brothers, as I was an only kid for a long time. We’re still in touch, but everyone is busy and has their own life, so we see each other when we can.”
Phoenix – who father is Mel B’s ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar – didn’t talk about the family feud which has ripped the Beckham family apart in recent years after their eldest son Brooklyn shared a message on Instagram in which condemned his famous parents, Victoria and David, who are also parents to daughter Harper, 14.
During a recent talk as part of the Time100 Summit in New York City, Victoria explained she refuses to “pay attention” to negative stories about her family after Brooklyn accused his parents of ruining his wedding to wife Peltz Beckham, 31, controlling him and being obsessed with image and social media.
When asked how she copes “when private matters become international news”, Victoria replied: “This has been happening since I was 20 so it’s been going on a long time.
“And I have an incredible husband who supports me enormously we’re always there for each other and I learned a long time ago not to listen to the noise. “Not focus on the noise. Someone’s always going to have something to say. I focus and I don’t pay attention to it if that makes any sense.
“Someone else will deal with it. I don’t want to know. That’s how I handle it I suppose.”
Her remarks followed a period of heightened public attention on the Beckham family, driven by Brooklyn’s explosive social media statements about his family he made earlier this year.
In posts shared on Instagram, Brooklyn addressed ongoing tensions with his parents, writing: “I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He added: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
