Lucy Hale starring in Vision Board

Lucy Hale has been cast in the romantic fantasy film Vision Board, where she will team up with director Peter Hutchings for the third time.

Lucy Hale is set to star in the romantic fantasy film Vision Board.

The 36-year-old actress will reunite with director Peter Hutchings following their previous collaborations on The Hating Game and Which Brings Me to You.

The story centres on “a struggling fashion designer stuck in a dead-end life who, after drunkenly creating a vision board, wakes up to find herself living her dream reality. She now has it all: a Malibu mansion, a thriving fashion empire, and a seemingly perfect romance with a charming and charismatic partner. But as she leans into this aspirational new life, she begins to realise that achieving everything she ever wanted may come at the cost of losing her authentic self”.

Claude Dal Farra and Brian Keady are producing Vision Board for BCDF Pictures, with Matthew Shreder and his Concourse Media company executive producing and financing the flick with Archetype Media Finance.

Concourse’s Head of Acquisitions Kristin Harris said: “Vision Board is a perfect blend of romantic comedy and high-concept wish fulfilment, reminding us that while we can dream up a seemingly perfect relationship and life, but it’s meaningless if you lose sight of yourself along the way.

“We are honoured to partner with this incredible creative team who excel in this kind of storytelling, and will create a magical experience for audiences everywhere.”

Dal Farra and Keady added: “We’ve always been drawn to stories that feel entertaining on the surface but carry something deeper underneath. Vision Board taps into that universal idea of imagining a better life, and then questioning what it really means when you get it.

“Lucy and Peter are the perfect team to bring that balance of charm, humour, and emotional honesty to the screen.”

Lucy previously auditioned for the role of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation and confessed that she was “mortified” by the “sexually forward” monologue she had to perform.

The Pretty Little Liars star – who missed out on the part to Dakota Johnson – told E! Online: “I was very young. I forget… it had to have been, not 10 years ago, it was a while ago and I was mortified.

“It wasn’t actual scenes from the movie, but it was a very sexually forward monologue and I didn’t really even know what I was saying in the audition.”

Hale added: “I was a little naive about it all, but yes, I did audition. I obviously didn’t get the part, but it was good for me because it scared the c*** out of me to do an audition like that.”

Lucy also recalled how she attended a sex convention to prepare for her role in the 2020 romantic comedy movie A Nice Girl Like You, in which she plays a woman who makes a sex-to-do list in order to become more adventurous in bed.

The Riverdale star said: “Went to an actual sex convention – it was wild.

“Stuff I’ve never seen before. There were some things in the movie that I had never heard of or done. So, I did it to broaden my horizons.”
