Nikki Glaser has heaped praise on Leonardo DiCaprio, despite mocking him at the Golden Globes.
Nikki Glaser thinks Leonardo DiCaprio is a “cool dude”.
The 41-year-old comedy star received baskets full of pasta from DiCaprio, 51, after she poked fun at him during her Golden Globes monologue in January.
During the Globes, Nikki recalled an interview that DiCaprio gave in 1991, when he explained that his favourite food was “pasta, pasta and more pasta”.
The comedian observed that DiCaprio is notoriously media-shy and that it remains one of few pieces of information DiCaprio has ever shared about his private life.
However, Nikki has now admitted that the Hollywood star has gone up in her estimation with how well he took her jokes.
Nikki told People: “I got sent a picture of [the gift] because I wasn’t there when it arrived, and I was like, ‘What is this?’ And they were like, ‘It’s from Leonardo DiCaprio,’ and I was like, ‘There’s no way.’ And then I zoomed in more, and I was kind of confused.
“I was like, ‘He sent pasta?’ and I didn’t remember that the joke I had told was that his favourite food was pasta, pasta, and more pasta, and that he sent me three baskets of it. So he did three servings of pasta. It was so funny.
“It was so entirely unexpected and honestly, I was just bowled over by how kind it was because he took a couple of jokes that night that I’m sure — no one loves to have jokes directed at them, so it’s probably really kind of like, ‘Oh God, this again.'”
Nikki now sees DiCaprio as being a “funny, cool, and kind” guy who is able to laugh at himself.
The comedy star – who hosted the Globes for the second time in January – said: “I felt like in receiving that gift from him, I learned more about him than I have because he doesn’t do interviews.
“I’m like, oh, he’s a legit, kind, cool dude. Funny, cool, and kind, and just exactly what you want [him] to be.”
