Ella Bright weighs in on age gap with Off Campus co-star in steamy Prime Video show

Ella Bright has reflected on the almost 10-year age gap with her Off Campus co-star Belmont Cameli.

Ella Bright has played down concerns about the age gap with her Off Campus co-star Belmont Cameli.

The 19-year-old actress, who plays Hannah Wells in Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of Ella Kennedy’s steamy romance series, was cast opposite 28-year-old Belmont Cameli (Garrett Graham), but she’s keen to point out that she was never made to feel uncomfortable or “left out”.

She told the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast: “I get people’s concern, but also not once did I feel left out from being younger than everybody.

“We’re all such a family, and everyone was just more than perfect, and I couldn’t be more comfortable on this set with these people.”

Ella added that it’s “funny when they say that”, but insists: “I’m good. I’m completely good.”

The show follows music major Hannah Wells and hockey team captain Garrett Graham at Briar University, as their fake romantic relationship turns real after they end up actually falling for each other.

She also explained how the early chemistry reads and auditions gave her plenty of “understanding of what this role required”.

She said: “Listen, I came into this job and during the chemistry reads with more than enough information and knowledge and understanding of what this role required.

“I just fell in love with Hannah and these scripts immediately. Like, there was never a question that I wouldn’t want to do this.”

Meanwhile, showrunner Louisa Levy did her job to ensure the entire cast knew exactly how the show’s steamier moments would be handled.

Ella recalled how “everyone had full understanding of what we were going into”.

She added: “Her idea was that for Hannah the briefing was like partial nudity and for Allie [Mike Abdalla] it had to be full, just because Allie, she’s got this amazing confidence about her, and she is so free with her body.

“And sex is just such an important part of her life. It is honestly just showing the difference between these characters.”

Off Campus is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video, while a second season was already announced in February, months before the series premiere.
