Bridesmaids star Rebel Wilson rvealed in her 2024 memoir Rebel Rising that she lost her virginity to Mickey Gooch Jr. at the age of 35 – following a six-month relationship.
Rebel Wilson’s ex Mickey Gooch Jr. had to read excerpts of the actress recounting the moment he took her virginity as he made his Broadway debut.
Bridesmaids star Rebel revealed in her 2024 memoir Rebel Rising that she lost her virginity to Mickey at the age of 35 – following a six-month relationship.
She and Mickey were introduced by a Pitch Perfect castmate back in 2015, and hit it off immediately – with their friendship quickly turning into something more romantic.
Rebel recounted her first experience of sex in graphic detail in the tome, but Mickey was unaware that the subject was going to be brought up by Kathy Griffin as he appeared on stage in the Broadway comedy revue Celebrity Autobiography at the Shubert Theatre – until minutes before curtain up.
Kathy read from the chapter titled Late Bloomer, as she looked at Mickey and said: “Micks, I know this might be news to you if you are reading this, but yes I lost my virginity to you. And a great shag you were.”
Luckily, Mickey was on board with reading out the chapter, and interjected with hilarious remarks as Kathy read the book in a broad Chicago accent.
It was during the filming of How to Be Single that Mickey flew to New York to be with then-girlfriend Rebel, and Rebel decided that “this was going to be it”.
Kathy then read the final paragraph from the chapter: “And then, you guys, it just happened. I finally had sex. I go to the bathroom, I high-five myself. I’m so happy I finally had sex.
“And with somebody I really like and really feel safe with at the lovely Greenwich Hotel. Oh, and fun fact, Mickey — this hotel is actually owned by Robert De Niro.”
Reflecting on his and Kathy’s on-stage sparring, Mickey said after the show: “It was a pretty surreal way to make my Broadway debut.
“I guess I popped my Broadway cherry, literally.”
Celebrity Autobiography, created by Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, sees a rotating cast of famous faces performing readings of other stars’ memoirs, and relies heavily on improvisation.
