Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ‘transform’ Madison Square Garden for wedding

Madison Square Garden reportedly looks “so different” inside as staff prepare for the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly “transformed” Madison Square Garden for their wedding.

The 36-year-old singer and her NFL star fiancé, also 36, are expected to tie the knot at the legendary New York City venue this weekend, and it appears the inside of the so-called World’s Most Famous Arena has been completely changed for the nuptials.

According to PEOPLE magazine, source have said MSG has been “transformed”, with one insider adding: “I’ve never seen it look so different.”

Earlier this week, several trucks were seen outside the arena as workers loaded equipment, decorations and grass into the venue.

Some black equipment boxes were also spotted, including one labelled “Garden Party”, while another – which appeared to be larger than the rest – read “Mirror Ball”.

Recent reports claimed the couple were expected to marry over the July 3 weekend, with the couple said to be planning an intimate ceremony followed by a much larger gathering over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The reports claim the couple have chosen Madison Square Garden as the venue for the celebrations, with an initial event attended by around 100 close family members and friends before a larger reception said to include between 1,000 and 2,000 guests.

Neither Taylor nor Travis has publicly confirmed the plans, and representatives for both had not responded to requests for comment, according to Page Six last month.

According to The New York Times, the first gathering is expected to take place on 2 July, with a larger celebration planned for the following day.

Page Six, which first reported in April the couple were preparing to marry over the July 3 weekend, has also said the event will take place at the iconic Manhattan venue, where Swift has performed multiple sold-out concerts.

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has joked about the wedding, when a reporter asked about the rumours during a press conference about a heat wave.

Mamdani, 34, replied: “My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool. And if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool. And I think it’s a good example to set for the city at large.”

Mamdani also discussed Taylor and Travis’ wedding while talking about preparations for the soccer World Cup.

The mayor – who is a huge soccer fan – said at the time: “We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one.

“We know it coincides with the Knicks’ Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time —and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
